Christina has been joyfully leading Tinkergarten classes since 2017. Her parenting and educational philosophies have been shaped by over 20 years in early childhood education as well as an advanced degree earned by raising her two wild and wonder-filled boys.
Christina believes that life is best learned outdoors and nature is the ideal classroom. She connects with children and their grown ups from a place of understanding and love as she guides them through playful discovery.
iWonder Flagstaff sprouted from Christina’s love for children, their families and her community. iWonder Flagstaff brings Tinkergarten to life by providing one of a kind adventures for young explorers and their guides to play and learn together in a way that speaks to the child in all of us.

Tinkergarten’s core program is designed for learners aged 1.5 to 8 years old. Our child-led, play-based approach is designed to support a wide range of learners in engaging in deep, meaningful learning.
The curriculum guides learners through play experiences designed to support the development of the following 8 essential skills—all while deepening children’s connection to the natural world we all share.
Communication • Creativity • Empathy • Focus • Persistence
Problem Solving • Sensory Development • Wellness
Each series of 10 lessons supports the development of one skill and is designed to be completed within a 10-13-week period at whatever frequency works for the teacher and learners. Every two years, we repeat our 8-skill cycle, allowing learners to revisit core concepts at a more advanced developmental stage and adding new twists to the curriculum to delight teachers and children alike.

Our Focus this Summer
Strengthening and balancing our senses through outdoor play!
Senses are central to how kids experience the world, how they behave, and how they learn. While most kids crave sensory engagement, unfortunately, they don't always get it. More and more, teachers and parents are noticing that young bodies are crying out for more of what their developing sensory systems need.
Good news! Nature truly is the ideal, sensory environment—calming, constantly changing, and stimulating to all of our senses, in perfect balance.
This Summer, our curriculum is designed to help each child strengthen and balance their senses in the most stimulating and soothing classroom of all—the great outdoors. Our curriculum will help kids foster each of their senses, activate multiple senses at once and offer approaches to support each child’s unique sensory system.

Full Season Classes
Our Fall Focus curriculum is designed to help kids hone the symphony of skills we use to direct, shift, and sustain our attention. Throughout this 7-week series, we’ll leverage the captivating natural world to teach kids several building blocks of focus: how to feel present in the moment; how to zoom in and zoom out; how to wonder; and how to follow our interests. Throughout our series, we’ll also reinforce rituals that help us feel both grounded and open to discovery. Each explorer will receive an iron-on skill badge at the end of the season.
Classes are designed for children 18mo-8 years. Siblings younger than 18 months are welcome to attend for free.
All children must be accompanied
by a fun-loving grown-up.
